Renting a Car for a Wedding or Family Event in Syria

What a wedding trip actually needs

A wedding in Syria is rarely one event. It is a week: relatives arriving at the airport, visits across the city, preparations, the evening itself, and often a trip out of town afterwards. Planning the car around the whole week, not just the night, is what saves stress.

Usually that means one of two set-ups:

• One practical car for the whole stay, used for errands, visits and airport runs — plus a separate premium car, often with a driver, for the wedding day.
• One premium car for the whole stay, if the family wants the same vehicle throughout and is comfortable with it as an everyday car.

Choosing the wedding car

For the day itself, families usually want something larger and more formal than an everyday rental. Auris offers premium and VIP vehicles in Syria — see the luxury car rental page for Syria and our GMC Yukon guide. Two things to know:

• Availability on a specific date is confirmed at booking, not guaranteed in advance. Wedding seasons — summer and around Eid — are busy, so ask early.
• Tell the team it is for a wedding. It helps them plan the handover and timing for that day.

With a driver or without?

On the wedding day, a car with a driver is the common choice. The groom, the bride's family or the hosts should not be the ones searching for parking outside the venue. A driver also means the car can wait or loop around during the evening. Our private driver comparison explains how that works.

For the rest of the week, self-drive is usually fine.

Timing, and the questions to ask in advance

• Pickup time and place on the wedding day — the house, the salon, the hotel.
• How late the evening runs, and whether the return happens that night or the next morning.
• Decoration. If you plan flowers or ribbons on the car, ask first what is allowed and how it should be attached. Do not assume.
• Cleaning. A published $10 cleaning fee applies where a car comes back needing cleaning. After a wedding evening with family, plan for it or tidy up before return.
• Deposit. The published Syria deposit is $300 or $500 depending on the car — know which applies to the premium car.

The airport runs

Wedding weeks usually involve several family arrivals. Damascus International Airport pickup and delivery to addresses in Damascus (from $15) are both available — see Damascus airport arrival guide. For Aleppo weddings, the Aleppo airport arrival guide covers the same ground.
