Booking & coverage
Can I rent a car in Syria?
Yes. You can rent a car in Syria with Auris. Our Syria service is centred on Damascus and Damascus International Airport. Check live cars and prices through the website search, or message the team on WhatsApp.
Can I rent a car in Damascus?
Yes. Damascus is Auris's main Syria coverage. Pickup is available in the city — including areas such as Kafr Sousa and Qaysar — and hotel or address delivery within Damascus can be arranged on request, subject to availability.
Can I pick up a car from Damascus International Airport?
Pickup at Damascus International Airport can be arranged when the service is available. Send your flight details on WhatsApp and the team confirms the meeting point and timing before your booking is finalised.
Can I book through WhatsApp?
Yes. WhatsApp is a direct way to book with Auris. Send your dates, pickup point and the kind of car you need, and the team replies with options and confirms availability before anything is locked in.
How does the booking process work?
Choose your pickup location and dates and search available cars on the website, or send the same details on WhatsApp. Auris does not take online card payment — the team confirms your reservation manually, so you always speak to a real person before it is final.
Documents & who can book
What documents are required to rent a car?
Bring your passport (or national ID for Syrian nationals) and a valid driving licence held for the rental period. If your licence is not in Latin script, carrying an International Driving Permit alongside it removes any doubt. The booking should be in the main driver's name.
Can Syrian expats rent a car?
Yes. Syrian expats visiting from abroad can arrange a car for arrival in Damascus, including airport pickup when available. Many book ahead on WhatsApp before they travel so the car is ready on arrival.
Can Gulf visitors rent a car in Syria?
Yes. Visitors from Saudi Arabia, Kuwait, Qatar, the UAE and other Gulf countries can rent a car in Damascus with a passport and a valid driving licence. We have dedicated guides for several nationalities in our blog.
Driver, vehicles, payment & before pickup
Can I rent with a private driver?
Yes. Auris offers a car together with a driver in Damascus — useful for business travelers, families and visitors unfamiliar with the roads. See the private driver page or ask on WhatsApp; pricing and availability depend on your specific plan.
What type of car is best for families?
Mid-size SUVs suit most family visits, while a van works better for larger groups with luggage. Economy cars are ideal for light city driving, and a baby seat can be requested. The team can suggest a class once you share passenger and luggage numbers.
What payment and deposit details should I confirm?
Confirm what the rate includes, the fuel policy, and any deposit and how it is handled, along with accepted payment methods — Auris does not take online card payment, so payment is arranged directly with the team during confirmation. Keep some cash for fuel, as card payment is not available everywhere.
What should I confirm before pickup?
Confirm the pickup point and time, the vehicle class, what the rate includes, the fuel policy, and any deposit or document requirements. Inspect the car with the representative, note any existing marks, and keep your own photos before driving off.
